How much corpus do you need to retire at 40, 45, 50 or 55?

Each page answers one question: if you want to stop working at a given age and your household spends a given amount each month, how big must the corpus be on the day you stop? The spending is inflated to that day at 6% a year, then divided by a 3.5% first-year withdrawal rate.

We also work backwards to the monthly SIP from age 30, starting from zero, that builds the corpus at 11% a year with a 7% yearly increase. Pick the retirement age first, then the spending level that matches your household.

Every page ends with a link to the FIRE calculator with the numbers filled in, so you can add the savings you already have, change the withdrawal rate or test a different return.
